Police: Attempt made to torch Bat Yam restaurant where IDF soldier’s murderer worked
Restaurant had been protested for hiring illegal Palestinian.

Unknown assailants tried Monday night to torch a Bat Yam restaurant where IDF soldier Tomer Hazan and his murderer worked, Tel Aviv police said Tuesday morning.Investigators are examining whether the attempted arson, which damaged planters outside the restaurant, was to protest owner Tzachi Entebbe’s employment of 42-year-old Nidal Amar, the illegal Palestinian laborer who confessed to luring Hazan to the West Bank in September and murdering him.Hours after Hazan’s death was reported, an angry crowd gathered outside the “Tzachi Meats” on Herzl Street and called for the restaurant to be boycotted. The next day, Entebbe announced that he was closing the restaurant for a week, in solidarity with the family.Entebbe also said that Amar was legally employed by the restaurant.
