These shoes were made for walking... all the way to court?America's first daughter Ivanka Trump is expected to testify under oath in a lawsuit against her company which claims that a sandal designed by Trump's company was a knockoff, a judge decided Friday.The rival company, called Aquazzura Italia SRL, sued the president's daughter last year in a Manhattan federal court. The luxury Italian shoe company charged at the time that a red hot, high-heeled "Hettie" sandal manufactured by Trump's company was a knockoff of their $785 "Wild Thing" model.Trump is now slated to testify in a court appearance that would be limited to "two hours [and] must occur in Washington, DC if that is more convenient for Ms. Trump, and it should occur on a mutually acceptable schedule," Judge Katherine Forrest said in a decision meant to accommodate Trump's busy schedule.The first daughter's attorneys previously argued that Trump, who serves as a senior, unpaid aide in her father's administration, should not be made to testify at all because she wasn't involved in the design process, the New York Daily News reported.Judge Forrest did not, however, accept their claim. Trump's "active and comprehensive brand management lead to a reasonable inference that the shoe at issue would not have been released without her approval," the judge retorted.The Aquazzara company is seeking unspecified damages.
