Janet Jackson visits West Bank kids as UNICEF ambassador
She did not visit Israel during her time in the region.

Pop star Janet Jackson visited the West Bank last week as an ambassador for UNICEF – the United Nations Children’s Fund.She visited Yatta High School, south of Hebron, as well as shepherds from a herding family in Bir al-Eid, in the South Hebron Hills.On Saturday Jackson tweeted a photo of the girls from Yatta High School along with the caption “Peace. Yatta High School, West Bank with @UNICEF. Beautiful Palestinian students.”Accompanied by her Qatari husband, Wissam al-Mana, Jackson, 48, entered the West Bank from Jordan. While in Jordan, the couple visited the Za’atari refugee camp, home to thousands of refugees who fled war-torn Syria.Jackson’s trip was private and unannounced.She did not visit Israel during her time in the region.Jackson, 48, is the youngest sister of the legendary Michael Jackson, but rose to fame through her own music. She has been involved in social and philanthropy projects throughout the years.
