Former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau and singer Katy Perry made their first public appearance together last week at Paris’ Crazy Horse cabaret after the pair had earlier been photographed together on a yacht. The Paris event fell on Perry’s 41st birthday.

Trudeau, who has a brief history in the arts world with his 2007 performance as Major Talbot Papineau in The Great War, is apparently “crazy” about the singer, a source told Page Six.

“He is crazy about her and thinks she is the perfect woman,” the source said. “They are simpatico on everything including politics, kids and French food.”

Neither Perry nor Trudeau have publicly commented on their relationship status, though TMZ released pictures of the pair holding hands.

Recent breakups

Perry split from her long-term partner, the father of her daughter, Orlando Bloom, over the summer after more than a decade together.

Perry was previously married to Russell Brand, a British actor facing charges of sexual assault in the UK following allegations made by multiple women.

Perry and Brand had dated for only four months before the engagement announcement in 2010, according to US Weekly. After just over a year of marriage, they called it quits in 2012.

Trudeau split from his wife of 18 years, the mother of his three children, Sophie Grégoire, in 2023.
