It will take more than a few missiles and tunnels to dislodge us from this part of the world, but it is still tragic and devastating how many of our young soldiers must make the ultimate sacrifice for the people of Israel to live in peace. Israel is the only country in the world in which people wake up every morning wondering who will try to wipe them from the face of the earth today.
Terrorists are people you don’t negotiate with, and the western world, led by the US, refuses to understand this. It is surprising how strongly US President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry are pushing for a cease-fire with Hamas – great support for the enemies of your so-called “best friend in the Middle East.” I wonder how President Obama would react if Israel attempted to pressure the US into signing a cease-fire with al-Qaida while al-Qaida was bombarding nearly every city in the United States.
There is an Arabic saying: “It is better for a thousand mothers to weep over their children than for my mother to weep.” The pressure on Israel from the western world, combined with the typical Jewish compassion and guilt, has over the past three weeks caused too many Jewish mothers to weep over their children.
This must be stopped.
It is time to do what is right for the state and the people of Israel, and stop looking over our shoulders every time we must use force to protect our families and country.
The IDF has the greatest respect for human rights of any army in the world; certainly no country in Europe, in which six million of my people were slaughtered, will lecture me on what human rights are all about.
This is the time to raise your voice and speak up for us, the ones who are fighting to keep the flag up and the lights on for the sake of the Jewish people around the world – but not only for them.
Israel is the last line of defense of the free world in the Middle East. If we go down, the “humane” western world will face what we are facing today – in their hometowns.
It is already happening today in Europe, and it will only get worse.
