Tel Aviv University
Tel Aviv University President Prof. Ariel Porat, hosted key executives who entered new positions in 2019, all of whom are graduates of Tel Aviv University. The head of the University Alumni Association Sigalit Ben Hayon led the Senior Forum meeting together with the president and Amos Elad, the vice president for Foreign Relations and Alumni Affairs. Among those in attendance was Liad Agmon, the founder of Dynamic Yield, which was sold to McDonald’s, who is a graduate of the Faculty of Exact Sciences and the Arts.
Agam Museum
Young Friends of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art enjoyed activities entitled ‘Friends with Children’ with the next generation at the Agam Museum. The co-chairs of the Young Friends Circle, Elital and Jason Arison, along with the other members and their children, enjoyed a guided tour by artist Yaacov Agam himself, who regaled his guests with lots of interesting anecdotes.
ALYN Hospital
British Ambassador to Israel, Neil Wigan visited ALYN Hospital in Jerusalem, which specializes in the rehabilitation of children and teens.
Wigan, an innovation and technology enthusiast, arrived at ALYN together with representatives of the UK-Israel tech hub, to hear about the hospital’s advanced innovations and the advanced treatments carried out by the doctors and therapists, including the use of virtual reality, augmented reality, 3D printing and advanced movement systems. The ambassador was greeted by the director-general of the hospital, Dr Maurit Beeri, and chairman of the Board of Directors of ALYN, economist and strategic adviser Zvi Ginosar.
Israel Olympic C’ttee
The Olympic Committee in Israel recently held an event at Beit Hasmachot in Tel Aviv, which included a ceremony, dinner and a party. Yigal Carmi, chairman of the Olympic Committee in Israel, along with CEO Gili Lustig, concluded a successful year for Olympic sports in Israel. Rhythmic gymnast Linoy Ashram (for the third year in a row) and Judoka Sagi Muki (for the second year in a row) were crowned at the event as Athlete of the Year by the Olympic Committee in Israel.
Lone Soldier Center
Drorit Nitzani and Liora Rubinstein, who run The Michael Levin Lone Soldier Center, which helps IDF lone soldiers who have no family in Israel, held their fifth annual gala to celebrate the new year. All of the proceeds were donated to the soldiers. The artistic part of the evening included a performance by Tislam and Ehud Banai. Guests included Lihi and Yair Lapid; Eli and Alona Barkat; Marianne and Doron Livnat; Danny and Doris Tokatli; and Gil Agmon.
