White House: Timing not right for 3-way ME meeting during Bush trip
The White House says the timing is not right for a three-way meeting of President George W. Bush and the leaders of Israel and the Palestinian Authority when Bush is in the Mideast next week. Bush will visit Israel, Saudi Arabia and Egypt to try to advance the stalled peace process and to mark the 60th anniversary of Israel's creation and 75 years of US relations with Saudi Arabia. National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley said Wednesday that Bush once again will press the Saudis to increase oil production as a means of easing soaring gasoline costs. Hadley says oil producers "need to take into account the economic health of their customers who pay these prices."
