Protests over caricatures of Muhammad reach Spain
Some 200 Muslims shouting "God is great" staged a demonstration here Saturday against publication of caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad, pumping their fists into the air as protests over the cartoons surfaced for the first time in Spain. The protest was held in Melilla, a Spanish city of 65,000 people that is located on Morocco's northern coast and claimed by the Rabat government. The population here is 40 percent Muslim. A similar rally that drew about 50 people was held in the Basque city of Bilbao.
