Japan's 'Departures' beats 'Waltz with Bashir' in foreign language Oscar Staff
The Japanese film Departures won the Academy Award for best foreign language film on Sunday night in Los Angeles. The film was directed by Yojiro Takita, and marked the twelfth Oscar nomination for Japan. Israel's Waltz with Bashir, directed by Ari Folman, was also nominated for the best foreign language film award.
