Madagascar president says power handed to military
Madagascan President Marc Ravalomanana said Tuesday that he had handed over power to the military. In a radio address Ravalomanana said he was stepping down and a military directorate will take over. There was no immediate reaction from the opposition leader, who has pressed Ravalomanana to resign so he could take his place.
