The Maale Film School in Jerusalem, which is geared toward religiously observant students, is having a special series of screenings of student films.
The Maale Film School in Jerusalem, which is geared toward religiously observant students, is having a special series of screenings of student films. On Saturday night, Jerusalemites can see four Maale films at Hechal Shlomo at 9 p.m., and in the Sharet Auditorium in Petach Tikva, the films will be screened 8:30 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. The movies shown will be Prisoner of War by Yisca Gur, a documentary about her father, who was a prisoner of war in Egypt after the Yom Kippur War, and how his experiences affect her entire family; Seven Blessings (Sheva Brachot), the story of a young married couple by Chen Galon-Klein; Topo, by Orit Ben-Hur Raz, about a young boy dealing with issues of bereavement and faith; and At Ease, the story of a boy torn by the call of military service and his desire to be a rock musician, by Ben Katz.
