Tibi says he gave Carter document on 'discrimination' against Arabs Staff
UAL-Ta'al MK Ahmed Tibi says he met former US president Jimmy Carter on Monday in a bid to draw US attention to the "discrimination" suffered by Israeli Arabs. "I gave him a document detailing the financial and socioeconomic state of Arabs in Israel," he told Army Radio on Monday, stressing that he wanted Carter to give the document to US President Barack Obama. He said since Obama had stated that it was his intention to help minorities, the US "should be attentive to our needs." Tibi urged Obama to allocate a portion of aid specifically to the Israeli Arabs, accusing Israel of "institutional racism."
