Police release Holyland suspect to house arrest

Yehoshua Pollack, former Jerusalem deputy mayor and head of the local Planning and Construction Committee, was released to house arrest Tuesday, Israel Radio reported.

He is suspected of setting the Holyland project expansion in motion in exchange for bribes, money laundering, fraud, breach of public trust and conspiracy to commit a crime

In a related development, Army Radio said that Shlomo Eshkol, the Jerusalem City Engineer, called for freezing the project in a report submitted to the city municipality on Tuesday.
