Ceausescu and wife's remains exhumed to check DNA
Former Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceausescu and his wife Elena's remains were being exhumed in order to check their identity on Wednesday, AFP reported.

"Today, the corpses will be exhumed in order to get samples for DNA testing. We have to know if it is really them who are buried here", son-in-law Mircea Opran told private TV channel Realitatea.

The Ceausescu's remains were buried in the Ghencea military graveyard in Bucharest. They were executed on December 25, 1989.
