Passengers overpower hijacker on Turkish Airlines flight

A man attempting to hijack a Turkish Airlines plane flying from Oslo to Istanbul was overpowered by passengers on Wednesday, Reuters reported.

The Turkish man demanded the plane fly back to Norway and threatened that he had a bomb as he tried to force his way into the airplane's cockpit.

The motive for the attempted hijacking was unknown.

Police boarded the plane upon landing and found a passenger sitting on top of the hijacker.
