ISAF service member dies in insurgent attack in Afghanistan
KABUL - An International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) service member was killed in an insurgent attack in southern Afghanistan on Saturday, the NATO-led ISAF said in a statement.

On Friday an unspecified number of civilians were killed and wounded in an air strike ISAF in Now Zad district of southern Helmand province.

The air strike had been called in on two vehicles believed to be carrying a Taliban leader and other insurgents, ISAF said, adding later inspection of the scene revealed civilians were in the vehicles. An ISAF assessment team was being sent to the area.
