Andy Ram and Yoni Erlich also in action, will face Daniele Bracciali, Lukas Rosol in the quarterfinals.
Dudi Sela advanced to the second round of the Zagreb Indoors tournament on Wednesday, beating Andreas Beck of Germany 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Sela (73) saved five of Beck’s (87) seven break points, while converting four of his seven in the one hour and 47 minute encounter. He next faces Croatian giant Ivo Karlovic (46), who beat beat Blaz Kavcic 7-6 (2), 6-3.

Andy Ram and Yoni Erlich are also in action in Zagreb and will come up against Daniele Bracciali and Lukas Rosol in the quarterfinals after defeating Michal Mertinak and Andreas Seppi in their first round match.

Meanwhile in Eilat, Shahar Pe’er (37) saved a match point to defeat Michaella Krajicek (79) 5-7, 7-6 (5), 6-1 to equalize Israel’s Fed Cup Europe/Africa Zone Group I tie against the Netherlands at 1-1.

The Dutch took the lead after Bibiane Schoofs (154) beat Julia Glushko (211) 6-3, 7-5, making the most of a meek performance by Israel’s No. 2.

The blue-and-white looked set to lose its Pool C opener when Krajicek reached a match point in the 12th game of the second set after taking four straight games to win the first.

However, Pe’er kept the national team alive with a forehand winner and tied the match after winning the subsequent tiebreak.

There was no stopping Israel’s No. 1 after that, with Pe’er surging ahead in the decisive set after taking a marathon third game.

The tie was decided late Wednesday night in a doubles match which ended after press time.

Israel faces Portugal in its second pool tie on Thursday.

Portugal’s Michelle Larcher De Brito (136) and Maria Joao Koehler (194) lost their opening tie against Judy Murray’s Great Britain side on Wednesday.
