Smooth summer
As the weather continues to heat up, cool down with some of these refreshing summertime drinks.
Creamsicle Smoothie
Serves 4. Can be doubled. Or tripled…

This will take you back to your childhood.

1 quart vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt, slightly softened
½ cup frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
¼ cup milk

Purée all ingredients in a blender. Pour into glasses and serve. Sit back and enjoy.

Watermelon Slushie
Serves 4

I’m a big watermelon fan and I’m always experimenting with creative uses of this naturally sweet fruit.

3 cups watermelon (seedless or seeds removed), cubed
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup lemon sorbet
¼ cup pineapple juice
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice

Purée all ingredients in a blender. Pour into glasses and serve.

Vanilla Milkshake
Serves 4

Sometimes basic is best.

2 cups vanilla ice cream
1 cup whole milk (you can use skim but shake won’t be as thick)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Purée all ingredients in blender. Pour into glasses, stick in straw, and serve.
