Morsy defends executive action, calls for 'new Egypt'
Egyptian President Mohamed Morsy spoke on Sunday night in front of hundreds of followers just hours after he announced the dismissal of Defense Minister Hussein Tantawi and Chief of Staff Sami Anan.

During the speech, Morsy defended the actions he took against the military, saying that they were not aimed at individuals, nor were they mean to embarrass any institution in particular.

Morsy also stated the his goal was to create a "new Egypt" and focused on the importance of Islam in the national rebirth.
