Soldiers from the IDF's Givati Brigade arrested a Palestinian man who was carrying out a shooting attack on an Israeli bus near Hawara, south of Nablus in the West Bank on Thursday .

The suspect managed to fire off one shot at the bus's luggage compartment, causing some damage. No one was injured in the attack.

The IDF believes the suspect, from the village of Awarta, carried out two previous shooting attacks on Israeli buses last month.

The IDF had been carrying out an operation to catch the suspect since his previous shooting attack on June 25. Soldiers who had been placed on the bus as part of the operation saw the suspect fire on the bus on Thursday, after which they apprehended him, preventing the attack from escalating.
