National state of emergency extended by 5 months

A joint panel of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee and Law, Constitution and Justice Committee extended the national state of emergency for another five months on Tuesday.

The country has been in a national state of emergency since its establishment in 1948, which is based on British Mandatory laws and includes hundreds of orders dealing with security, civil and economic matters.
