Hundreds attend joint Jewish-Muslim holiday event in Lod
Hundreds of people attended a joint Jewish and Muslim holiday event on Wednesday in Lod ahead of the Yom Kippur and Id al-Adha holidays which both fall on October 4 this year.

The event, organized by Labor MK Merav Michaeli, was created in order to maintain friendly relations between the two communities and and to prevent any misunderstandings about the holidays that could lead to escalations.

In attendance were the two chief rabbis of Israel, Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef and Rabbi David Lau, the Kadi [Islamic judge] of Jaffa Muhammad Zibdeh, as well politicians, including MK Ibrahim Sarsour of the United Arab List- Ta'al.
