Five US troops die west of Baghdad
The US military on Friday announced the combat deaths of five troops west of Baghdad. One soldier died and another was wounded on Friday when their patrol came under "sporadic small arms and indirect fire," the military said in a statement. On Thursday, three Marines and one US sailor died from wounds sustained in combat in western Anbar province, the military said. The troops were assigned to Regimental Combat Team 7. Their names were withheld pending notification of their families.
