MK Ayoub Kara parks his car in handicapped zone Staff
Apparently, depending on the issue, the Israeli public does take the lead from its country's elected public officials. Likud MK Ayoub Kara's car was parked Wednesday night, the same day the country marked equal rights for its disabled population, and in the same week in which a public survey showed that nearly 20 percent of Israelis consider handicapped people a "burden and danger" to society, in a handicapped space in the Knesset parking lot. Kara's assistant claimed on Army Radio that he was the one who parked the car in the handicapped space.
