Study: Social services requests in North up 20%

The North has seen a 20 percent jump in requests submitted to social services, Army Radio reported on Sunday night. According to a study conducted by the Social Workers' Union, most of the requests were the result of economic and family crises following the summer's war in Lebanon. The report said that despite the increase in the number of petitions, there has been no corresponding increase in allocations for human resources at social services offices.
