Twitter descends on Lapid after he confuses Sinwar with Haniyeh

"Three chiefs of staff and no one told you that this is Sinwar?" Ofer Golan wrote in response.
With just ten days until elections, Yair Lapid, Yesh Atid leader and Blue and White number two, confused Hamas Chief Ismail Haniyeh with Hamas military leader Yahya Sinwar in a Twitter mishap on Saturday night.

"When Ismail Haniyeh takes a selfie next to the fence and our children are in shelters, you know that Bibi has lost his deterrence," Lapid wrote in the tweet, which was accompanied with a picture of Sinwar taking a selfie with protestors during the Land Day Protests on Saturday. Lapid immediately deleted the mistake and retweeted with the correct name.

Twitter users quickly mocked Lapid for the mistake, including Likud MK Dudi Amsalem, who wrote "I wouldn't expect you to be able to tell the difference between a tank and an armored personnel carrier, but differentiating between Haniyeh and Sinwar is already amateurish ignorance. Tell me, are you sure you want to be prime minister?"

Lapid is the number two spot in the Blue and White Party with three former chiefs of staff - Benny Gantz, Gabi Ashkenazi and Moshe Ya'alon.

In a reply to Lapid's tweet, Ofer Golan wrote, "Three chiefs of staff and no one told you that this is Sinwar?"

Lapid later edited the tweet to say Yahya Sinwar.
