Iraqi police: Roadside bomb kills 2 in eastern Baghdad
11/10/2007
A roadside bomb exploded near a minibus early Saturday in eastern Baghdad, killing at least two people, police said. The bomb was likely aimed at a passing police patrol, but missed its target - hitting the minibus behind it instead, an officer said on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to release the information. The explosion occurred around 6:15 a.m. in the Baladiyat area, just east of the capital's Sadr City neighborhood, police said. Like Sadr City, the area is predominantly Shiite. Seven other people were wounded in the blast, the officer said. Some were in the minibus, and others were in a pickup truck nearby, he added.
