Taxi tariffs will start at a minimum of NIS 9.90 instead of NIS 9.50 previously, the rate for ordering a taxi by telephone has gone up to NIS 3.80 from NIS 3.60 previously
Taxi transport rates rose by 5.1 percent on Wednesday in response to the spiraling price of gasoline, particularly diesel fuel since June 2006 which weigh on the costs of taxi drivers. Taxi tariffs will start at a minimum of NIS 9.90 instead of NIS 9.50 previously, the rate for ordering a taxi by telephone has gone up to NIS 3.80 from NIS 3.60 previously, while the added third person fee rose to NIS 3.50 from NIS 3.30.
