This week, Moshe Reuven, a Hasidic Superstar in today’s day and age, signed to one of the world’s top Record Labels. This makes him one of four Orthodox Jews in history to do so.

Moshe, with a look of readiness for the next stage of his music career, gets off the phone. The statement he left it with was from an Executive at Universal Music Group, “They’re good at what they do… Create isn’t Universal Music Group, but they’re about as close to family to us as you can get.” About to sign the contract sent to him from Create Music Group, the label that signed 6ix9ine in 2018 and dubbed by Inc. Magazine as “California’s #1 Company”, topping the Inc 5000 in 2020 as the #2 fastest growing company in America. Before committing he takes a call with a different executive, this one from Empire, from which he’s encouraged, “Those guys know what they’re doing.”Now having made his decision and officially signed on the dotted line, Moshe Reuven becomes a Create Music Group Artist, making him one of four Orthodox Jewish Artists in history to sign with a top Record Label and the 2nd Orthodox Jewish Hip Hop Artist to do so.

If you haven’t heard of Moshe Reuven yet, you’re about to. While his story has been since interviewed in various notable places such as GQ, he’s also become the most followed Rabbi on social media, with a couple million followers throughout the world. If you haven’t heard of a Hasidic Jew with over a million followers on social media, it’s because there aren’t any others. Moshe’s the only one to have crossed the million follower threshold.

It was as an early teen that Moshe began to hone his skills and talent in hip hop. Growing up in South Florida, music became a form of expression that he and his friends would take on and display at private gatherings. Moshe explains, “It’s been an obsession and form of expression for ages. As I’ve matured, my other endeavors have made music more of a reality. The COVID-19 pandemic granted me time to slow down and figure out what is truly important.” Mainly starting in his late teens, he would delve deeper and deeper into his Judaism, which today has been a huge part of his music and his inspiration to create. The focus and discipline that his journey in his own Judaism came along with, led him to excel to further heights in his music, as well as his work as an entrepreneur. Now Moshe has been involved in enlightening the masses via his music, content, and writings. Noted to have a unique skill at simplifying complex ideas in chassidus and making them easily understood, music is one of the various forms through which Moshe chooses to share wisdom. He was picked up as a writer for a Chabad established online learning platform called Live Kabbalah, in which he would take lofty teachings on Kabbalah and Chassidus and write articles about it on Arianna Huffington’s platform of choice. He was even invited onto the platform by Arianna Huffington herself after one of her writers recommended him after discovering his talent in writing combined with mastery over the teachings of Chassidus.

In the midst of the pandemic, Moshe released his debut single “You Are Not Alone” which topped charts in four countries, two of which being America and the UK. The single coming at an opportune time where millions across the world were suffering from loneliness and depression even hit #1 in South Africa. Shortly after reaching the #1 spot, GQ interviewed Moshe in which he explained the sound came about with hopes to provide healing for others. Coming off having a top 40 hit in America, UK, Canada, and South Africa, Moshe’s now set to release his first body of work with Create Music Group.

Create has been a leader in the music space, having carved itself as a leader via its unique ability to utilize data to get the most out of its artists. With innovative approaches, CMG helps artists monetize content across all platforms while providing access to technology so that progress is tracked in real time — something only offered by premier label services. Just about all the major record labels of today go to Create to help it enhance the careers of its artists, as well. Combining the powers of Create Music Group’s with Moshe’s rapidly growing notariety and impressive wordplay could help catapult Moshe into being one of the top Artists in the Rap & Hip Hop genre. Dressed in Hasidic garb and beard, he may not look like your usual rapper, but his ability to use the genre of rap as a vehicle for spreading positivity will show to be a touchstone that’ll separate him as one of the unique voices in rap.

Staying true to himself and his religious beliefs, Moshe will not be performing on Shabbat, the Jewish Day of rest. As he blends various sounds while conveying deep meaningful messages in his music, he hopes to be a light in the Hip Hop space, which has been known for its highlighting of violence, immoral behavior, foul language and degradation of women throughout the years since its origination in the early 70s. The deal that he signed allows him to create freely and be who he is, which, luckily enough - is a novelty
