Hungarian champions Gyor have made a formal approach to Peter Agba and are interested in signing him on loan from Maccabi Haifa. The Greens were previously optimistic that the player would be loaned to his former club, Olimpija Ljubljana, but talks with the Slovenians have recently stalled. It now appears more likely that the Nigerian midfielder will move to a different club.

Walla Sport has learned that Gyor has already begun contacts with the player. The Hungarian champions opened their season with a surprising elimination from the Champions League qualifiers against Vikingur, and subsequently fell out of the Conference League qualifiers, leaving them out of European competitions this season.

In addition to Gyor, another Hungarian team is interested in the player. Maccabi Haifa is not expected to impede the transfer and will agree to loan him out, likely without a loan fee or at least for a very low fee. This is intended to resolve their foreign player roster limits before Thursday, the deadline to register striker Andrija Novakovich for the Premier League opening round match against Hapoel Ramat Gan on Saturday at 8:30 p.m.
