Israel captain Yossi Benayoun on Thursday spoke of the high expectations he has of the Liverpool team with which he is embarking on his third season. The Reds, who finished in second place in the English Premier League last season to make it two years without a trophy, arrived in Singapore on Thursday as part of a preseason tour. "I have a lot of confidence in this team," Benayoun said a press conference. "We have a belief in the squad that we can win the league but we have to work hard and keep improving. Benayoun had been rumored to be considering leaving Anfield, but earlier this month signed a new contract with Liverpool. The 29-year-old excelled in the second half of last season and is looking forward to picking up where both he and the team left off. "Personally I want this to be an even better season for me. I want to take my chances and help the team," he said.
