Games We Play: Basketball - Burger's Bar sizzles

Burger's Bar Mevasseret flamed AJ HASC, winning by an overwhelming 54 points, in a 76-22 final in the Red and Dr. Murray's Israel Basketball League last week. Meanwhile, Wok Tov nipped Noam Weinberger 67-62; both winning teams all but clinched Sweet Sixteen playoff berths. Likely joining them at the dance will be the Lev Dawgs, who edged the TJ Toolboxes 51-48, and the David Project/Chickies, after a 64-47 victory over Toronto Shammy's. Shammy's bounced back with a 69-35 win over Lake Como Pizza in its second game of the night to stay in the playoff hunt. Also moving into contention for the postseason was Israel at Heart, winner of four straight games after overpowering Power Puff, 77-55. The biggest game of the weekend pit two undefeated giants, Lobos and Yesod, against each other, with Lobos prevailing in a 60-56 thriller. Buffalo Lunch Specials and Ike Ben Simon also both find themselves even in the standings at 3-3 with just a few fateful games remaining, after Buffalo's 42-37 victory. Other results: Chicago Boys 47, Charizards 25; Rain 74, Trumanaires 43; Chabad Heights 52, Hapisga Dry Cleaners 36.
