On Friday, the young guns of the Ra’anana Under-19 team will go up against the rising stars on the Ashdod/Lod U19 squad in what should be a pulsating Israel Cricket Junior League final. Both teams have had mixed results against one another, sharing the spoils in the matches that they have played and bragging rights will ultimately be decided on the pitch with the first ball scheduled to be bowled at 9:30 a.m. at the Ashdod cricket field. Both team captains, Ra’anana’s Rafi Schachat and Ashdod/Lod’s Yossi Ochayon have led their young sides well and it truly is a deserving pair of clubs who will be vying for the championship.Much will rest on the shoulders of the two Israeli-born team members, Josh Evans from Ra’anana, who performed outstandingly on the recent tour of Guernsey, and Ashdod/Lod’s Itamar Kehimkar, who is a proven match winner. This match is an appetizer to next week’s Senior League final that will be waged between Super Lions Lod and Ra’anana.
