The AFI Moshiko/Talk ‘n Save Men’s Contact Flag Football League kicked off this past weekend under the umbrella of the Israeli non-Olympic sports organization, Ayelet.Each team will play in a regular season round followed by groupings and a tiered playoff system leading up to the coveted Holyland Bowl.After one week of play, the reigning Holyland Champions, Lobos, are undefeated after beating the G.R. Eagles. Other teams that came away from the first weekend with wins were Big Blue, Joe’s Eagles, Mevaseret Mustangs, Canaan/Bar-Am, and Bitach.Teams on the losing end of the first weekend were Klein Management, Franks & Flags, Furnished Dwellings, Eretz Hatzvi, and TYA Digital Office Concepts.The action heats up over the next weeks at Kraft Family Stadium in Jerusalem as each team continues its quest for the Holyland Bowl title.
