Cyril and Norma Kaufman have a one-point lead going into the second day of qualification for the International Pairs competition, held at Gaash Golf Club on Tuesday. The Kaufmans, who represented Israel at last year's International Pairs, had 41 points in the "better-ball" Stableford and 75% handicap format. Moshe Yehezkel and Dudu Tor were just behind them with 40 points and two teams, Dudu Califa & Jeffery Zakon and Larry Bergman & Carmel Vernia, had 39. The top 24 pairs following Wednesday's round qualify for next week's final qualifying round, which will determine which pair will travel to Wales for the International Pairs competition in August. Tuesday's round was played in windy and humid conditions, following round-the-clock work by the tournament committee and grounds crew that ensured a positive experience for the competitors.
