Golf: Teenage duo snag Lag Ba'Omer Ga'ash tourney

Fifteen year old Inon Zadok, of Netanya, and thirteen year old Itai Gonen, of Ramat Hasharon, came out the winners in the Lag Ba'Omer Tournament at Ga'ash Golf Club on Tuesday. The tournament format was a better-ball Stableford, 75% handicap, and to make the tournament more interesting and challenging players were restricted to only four clubs of their own choice. The young duo of Zadok-Gonen found this format suitable to their type of game and won the tournament with 41 Stableford points. In second place were Moshe Yeheskel and Moshe Shlomovitz with 40 Stableford points. A number of teams were on 39 points and, after the count-out, third place went to Avi Dekel and Ian Fromain. Nearest to the pin prizes, sponsored by the Wine Center at Ga'ash, went to Salomon Levy, Aliza Ophir and Arik Heanig. The ground crew at Ga'ash prepared the course in excellent condition and with the growing season now in full swing the fairways are starting to meet their peak. The golfers in Israel are now looking forward to the two qualifying rounds of the "International Pairs" tournament to be held at Ga'ash Golf Club in June. The finalists there will represent Israel at the World "International Pairs" tournament to be held in Scotland in September. lists representing Israel at the world "International Pairs" tournament to be held in Scotland in September.
