Guide to Israel's Olympic Team - Noam Mills

The female fencer will be entering the Games in good form after finishing the European Championships in seventh position earlier this month.

Next month the 22-year-old Mills will become the first Israeli to compete in the Épée at the Olympics. Despite coming up just short of the Olympic Committee of Israel criteria, Mills was added to the delegation after being handed one of the three spots allocated to promising youngsters. Mills will be entering the Games in good form after finishing the European Championships in seventh position earlier this month. She is, however, only ranked at a career best No. 48 in the world at the moment and will be first and foremost going to Beijing to gain confidence for future Games when she will hopefully be contesting for a podium position.
