Alice Shlesinger claimed a bronze medal at the European Judo Championships for a second straight year on Saturday, defeating Holland's Elisabeth Willeboordse in the under-63 kilogram repechage final in Tbilisi, Georgia. The 21-year-old had lost her quarterfinal fight to Croatia's Marijana Miskovic earlier in the day, but made the most of her second opportunity, winning twice in the repechage to prove beyond a doubt that she's among Europe's top talents. "I'm delighted I've won my second straight European Championship medal," said Shelsinger, who also won the gold at the 2007 European Junior Championships and the bronze at the World Junior Championships in 2005. " I'm feeling very good about my judo and I'm optimistic about my future." Israel's other representatives all disappointed over the weekend, but Arik Ze'evi will be hoping to claim the Israeli delegation's second medal of the event when he competes on Sunday.
