Just a single month after signing on as Maccabi Rishon Lezion coach, Miki Dorsman quit on Monday morning. Rishon won just one of its four BSL games under Dorsman and was knocked out of the State Cup on Sunday. However, the main reason behind the coach's resignation was the club's financial struggles. "Dorsman was promised a respectable budget to strengthen the roster. Unfortunately, for reasons out of our control, the budget shrunk significantly and as a result Miki can't bring in the players he wanted to. Therefore he asked to be released from the coaching position," Rishon CEO Gilad Ziv said in a statement. "I would like to thank the Maccabi Rishon Lezion management and players," Dorsman said. "We found ourselves in an unpleasant situation which left us with no other option."
