Maccabi Tel Aviv continued its rebuilding process under new coach Pini Gershon on Tuesday, signing center Elton Brown until the end of the season. The 25-year-old American played a key role in Hapoel Holon's championship winning side last season and has been out of a team since he was cut from the Chicago Bulls during the NBA preseason. Brown, who averaged 13.1 points and 5.4 rebounds at Holon, will give Maccabi much needed presence under the basket and will be available to play in the team's upcoming Euroleague game against Cibona Zagreb on Thursday. Brown's signing and the return from injury of Marcus Fizer next month give Gershon a far too big roster, and on Tuesday Maccabi started to part with its disappointing players. Tel Aviv and out-of-favor forward Rodney White agreed to terminate the American's contract on Tuesday, with Jason Williams likely the next player to be leaving the yellow-and-blue.
