Panic continues to grip the struggling Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Just three weeks after signing Elton Brown until the end the season, the club announced on Friday that it has decided to release the player.
Brown played a combined 41 minutes over three games during his short stint at Maccabi, which was disappointed with his poor physical condition.
Brown is the third player Tel Aviv has released this season, joining Rodney White and Esteban Batista.
The 25-year-old American played a key role in Hapoel Holon's championship winning side last season and, before joining Maccabi, had been out of a team since he was cut from the Chicago Bulls summer camp.
Maccabi, without Brown, will leave for a three-day training camp in Germany on Sunday.
During its stay in Germany, Tel Aviv, which was knocked out of the State Cup on Monday by Ironi Nahariya, will face local club Skyliners Frankfurt twice, on Sunday and Monday evening.
