Maccabi Tel Aviv and Bnei Yehuda drew 1-1 in a dreary Tel Aviv derby at Bloomfield Stadium on Sunday night, which was a case of two points lost rather than one gained for both clubs. Maccabi, unbeaten in its last 12 Premier League matches, could have moved within two points of league leader Betar Jerusalem with a victory, while Bnei Yehuda, which has won only once in its last 12 league matches, missed an opportunity to put some distance between itself and the relegation zone. Nevertheless, both teams should consider themselves fortunate for getting something out of the match, with their awful displays not warranting even a single point from the uninspiring affair. Defender Yaniv Elul took advantage of a mixup in the Maccabi box and bundled the ball over the goalline, which eventually allowed his club to collect a precious point.
