Team USA to face Canada Red in semis of Jewish Hockey Worlds

The semifinal matchups in the Under-18 division have been determined at the second World Jewish Ice Hockey Tournament at the Canada Centre in Metulla, the northern-most city in Israel. Team USA will play Canada's Red entry, coached by former NHL defenceman, Jeff Beukeboom, in one semifinal on Monday. In the other semifinal, coach Steve Thomas's unbeaten Canada White team will play the Israeli Jr. team. The junior tournament is made up ostensibly of Jewish-born AAA hockey players from four countries. The gold medal game in the junior tournament will be played on Wednesday. In the senior-division, unbeaten teams from Canada and the United States are headed for a showdown, with professional goaltenders Josh Tordjman of Canada, who played two games for Phoenix Coyotes this past season opposing Dov Grumet-Morris, a former American Hockey League goaltender in the Nashville system. The senior semifinals will be played on Tuesday, with the finals being held the following day.
