Shahar Pe'er's winning streak came to an end on Sunday as the 22-year-old Israeli was beaten in the first round of the China Open.
Pe'er lost to Ekaterina Makarova (54) 4-6 2-6 in Beijing.
Pe'er had advanced to the main draw of the competition on Saturday, defeating Vania King 2-6, 6-0, 6-4.
She had been forced to play two rounds of qualifiers to make it into the first round proper of the massive $4,500,000 tournament.
