In a jam-packed field earlier this month, 180 golfers took part in the annual Caesarea Golf Club Championship. Participants played on the immaculately groomed Pete Dye layout in scorching sunny conditions.
Trophies were awarded in several different categories at a concluding ceremony that also served to inaugurate the newly installed observation deck which affords a panoramic view of the first and eighteenth holes. Players also played from the brandnew tee box on the first hole, which offers the opportunity to approach the pin from a more advantageous, yet challenging, angle.
The tournament marked the end of Andy Santos’s 18-year tenure as the club’s Head Professional. Santos is returning to California to become Head Professional at a club near San Jose. Long-time head of the Caesarea Golf Club’s teaching staff, Boaz Segev, has been named as his replacement.
