On Monday night, when Nativ walked on to the field, their 30 players, cheerleaders and all, were not expecting what hit them. Their opponent, the Storm, heated things up quickly when, on the very first play of the game, Tirza Willner caught a ball from quarterback Bessie Orzechowitz for their first touchdown en route to an easy 32-0 victory. Shelby Atkin caught the remaining three offensive TD's and, on defense, Avital Telstone picked the ball off and ran it for another touchdown on the last play of the game. In other WAFI action this week, although PAYGEA's game against Eden's Eagles was a tight one, in the end, Eden's Eagles emerged victorious in the 12-6 nail-biter. On defense, Margie Abell intercepted the ball four times. Quarterback Ilana Abell connected with receiver Suzy Tover twice for nice gains. The second shutout of the night was clinched when Ziontours defeated HODS by a final score of 34-0. On offense, QB Cindy Scarr threw five times to Ayelet Raab for a very impressive five touchdowns. Extra points were scored by Ora "The Mama", Esti Mandel and Raab. On defense, Raab had at least two clean interceptions and a third disputed pick as well. The third shutout of the evening was in the main event, when Big Blue routed Mishaan Plumbers, 47-0. On offense, Shana Sprung threw six TD's, a pair to Jessica Sagoskin, two more to Gefen Stein, and one apiece to Yael Freedman and Estie "Baseball" Bernstein. Sprung also ran for a TD of her own. Extra points were scored by Sagoskin and Sarit Bailey. On defense, Stein, Bailey, and Adena Brickman each picked the ball off once as Big Blue coasted to the easy victory.
