France's 1-0 victory over Portugal on Wednesday completed a turnaround from disappointing start to a second World Cup final in three tournaments.
France - which will face Italy in Sunday's final - struggled in the group stage, drawing with Switzerland and South Korea, and advancing to the second round only after beating lightly regarded Togo. It finished Group G second to Switzerland.
