Anyone with a passport expiring soon or planning spring or summer travel can save a substantial amount by taking action early. The Population and Immigration Authority announced that the discounted winter fee schedule for passport issuance will take effect on November 1. The lower rates apply to online payments made through the Authority's website between November 1 and February 28, 2027.
Under the updated seasonal fee structure, an adult passport costs NIS 185 at the winter online rate. By contrast, the online price during the summer months rises to NIS 290, while paying directly at a branch costs NIS 315. For minors, a winter online passport costs NIS 110, compared to NIS 145 online during the rest of the year and NIS 165 at a branch.
The financial savings quickly add up. A family consisting of two adults and two children will pay NIS 590 in total for four passports during the winter promotion. The same four passports would cost NIS 870 if paid online in the spring or summer, and NIS 960 if paid in person at a branch.
Active-duty soldiers, reservists, and national service volunteers are eligible for additional discounts, as determined by the IDF and the National Service Authority. According to the Population and Immigration Authority, the adjusted discount for eligible individuals will automatically display during the online checkout process.
Pay online now, visit a branch by April
Applicants do not need to visit a branch immediately during the winter months. The essential step is completing the online payment by the end of February 2027. Once paid, applicants have until the end of April 2027 to visit an office and complete the issuance process.
All branch visits require booking an advance appointment through the GoVisit application. To minimize waiting times, the Authority recommends selecting appointments for self-service kiosks where available.
Travelers should note that the reduced rates apply strictly to online payments. Anyone opting to pay in person at a branch will be charged the full standard fee, even during the winter discount period.
