Last month 655,122 passengers in 5,970 planes used Israeli airports, 13.5 percent more than in February 2007; about 95% took international flights.
Israeli airline companies flew 295,589 of the passengers last month, up 11% from a year earlier. Sun D'Or, Orient Thai and TransAero were the busiest foreign carriers.
The most popular destination was Paris's Charles De Gaulle Airport, where 46,377 passengers landed and took off on that route, up 13% from the same month last year. The highest volume with any country was with the US; 88,413 passengers flew to and from the US in February.
The greatest growth to and from a single destination was with Austria, which saw a 40% growth in activity. The biggest decrease in activity was with Cyprus, down 28%, and Thailand, down 15%.
