Weekend Walk: Kibbutz Yagur and Nesher

Take advantage of one of the many parts of the Carmel mountain range that was not destroyed by wildfire with this great hike south of Haifa.

To reach the start of the hike, take Route 75 until the sign for Kibbutz Yagur and Nesher. Turn towards Kibbutz Yagur and once in the kibbutz turn right immediately after the gate and park in the parking lot near the swimming pool.

Begin by following the red trail for a few hundred meters until the forest area. Turn right at the trail marked with green signs. Follow this trail as it climbs up the mountain northwards. Continue up the mountain and just before reaching the road, take a sharp left and begin following the black trail. This part of the trail allows for even more better views.Continue straight until signs for the blue trail are seen. Take this route and enjoy the shade provided by the many trees which cover the way. Here begins the decent down the mountain back towards the parking lot. Continue down the valley, not forgetting to appreciate the beautiful flowers that litter the way. Rejoin the red trail for a short while which will lead back to the starting point.Remember to wear sun screen and head covering. At least three liters of water per person is a must.
